So, who were the 54 idiots?

The anti-freedom folks get to go back to their constituents and say "we tried".

The pro-freedom folks get to go back to their constituents and say "we won".

And nothing changes. It is a stalemate, not a victory. We need to push harder.

    Exactly.

They'll find a way to bring it back up every chance they get.

It won't be "over", ever. :noway:

This is a good thing. I'd rather fight over background checks each year instead of more restrictive laws. The left will keep coming. If we caved on this then next year it would be mags.

As it stands, next year it will just be background checks again which is fine by me!!!:yesway::yesway::yesway:

    That's great.

NOW, IMO we have to KEEP hammering on these politicians, not ONLY to eradicate these other useless gun-grab laws, but to push HARDER for nation-wide reciprocity for EVERY State.

I intend to keep mailing / e-mailing these guys to push as hard as I can as often as I can. Legally and legitimately, of course.

Something I learned from the whacko-left. Well, learned EXCEPT for the 'legal and legitimate' part. Gun grab whackos don't really know anything about legal and legit. Nor do they seem to care.

I do. As we just demonstrated today, we can win playing by the 'rules', even if the rules aren't necessarily in our favor at the time.

The pro-gun (and neutral-gun) folks should really feel empowered today. This should give them at least a minor demonstration that this country is still run "by the people".

    And that's YOU. :yesway:

It's not over. Keep up the fight. Hopefully some of the socialists who were stupid enough to vote for this anti-American garbage will pay the price come next election day.

Should not be that hard to figure out who they are and who puts money in their war chests. That is who controls these guy's, contributions not we the people.

Stay ever vigilant!! These snakes are waiting for 2014. They are purposely pounding the media in toss up states so as to win the House, and hopefully keep the Senate, and then it's all over. They said the healthcare bill wouldn't pass, so never, ever rest!! Keep writing your reps, and keep getting the word out, especially to friends in other states.

Four Republicans - Sens. John McCain of Arizona, Susan Collins of Maine, Mark Kirk of Illinois and amendment author Toomey - broke with the rest of the GOP to support the background check legislation.
