Gov. Brown caps a month of bill signings, vetoes - latimes.com

I absolutely love this moronic quote:

"This finally puts an end to the dangerous and intimidating practice of carrying openly displayed guns in public," said Brian Malte, director of state legislation for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. "California families will now be able to take their families to the park or out to eat without the worry of getting shot by some untrained, unscreened, self-appointed vigilante."

So.... I know you couldn't conceal... and now you can't OC... Can you carry at all in CA?

Sure, now they only have to worry about the highly trained, well screened career criminal with lengthy records that they have no room to jail....carrying concealed though, so no worries. Out of sight is out of mind right?

Yeah, criminals always carry openly. I think the Santa Anna winds must be toxic to the human brain, cause it seems to have turned quite a few of them to mush in CA.

So, let's get this straight. Hollywood produces movie after movie involving gun related violence , showing good guys shooting bad guys, bad guys shooting innocents, etc, But the residents of the State that fosters and glorifies such violence are now not allowed to carry handguns to protect themselves?

Wonder how long before SCOTUS gets this case......

Yes, but it depends on where you live.

California is a MAY issue state and the MAY issue decision lies with your local sheriff. If you have a sheriff who issues permits then you may be able to get a permit to carry if you meet his criteria. If you live in a county where the sheriff does not issue permits (except to his friends/rich&famous) then your ability to defend your life depends upon how fast you can run or if you have any self-defense skills.

Hooray! This is truly a blessing. Now let's start the lawsuits to obtain the right to carry in all of California.:)

So is this just a ban on the symbolic unloaded, no license required OC?

Correct, it was the rancher's exception during the Reagan Ban of the '60s.

Well, it's only Monday. I don't think I'll hear something that stupid the rest of the week, or month for that matter. KaliFail:noway:

Under the restrictions Kalifornians were previously "allowed" to open carry (unloaded only), the state already made it fairly dangerous to do so.

Hopefully, this will be the final straw needed to open the state up to a strong 2A lawsuit and win back the right now completely denied to most residents.

Of course you can carry in Cali. That's why they make small guns that fit IWB. Will you be a "law abiding" citizen? Nope. But that doesn't matter, too much, when it's your life on the line, does it? I lived out there many years ago and often carried. Don't ask, don't tell.

That system isn't working too well in IL, is it?

Oh come now, obviously CA and IL know better than the other 48 states... despite the fact that they have been steadily moving in the opposite direction (Isn't that called "progress", or... "progressive"?)

They know something that we don't.... They know what can really happen if people are allowed to carry guns!

California, You have FAILED Epically. i will never cross into your state lines again.. Just like Illinois and Ohio. IMO i would rather drive 300-400 miles out of my way to avoid the states that dont honor The Constitution.

Kali joins Chicago (I hate to hold that one city against what would otherwise be a fairly sane state) as another anvil ripe for the focus of hammering out 2A infringements.

With so many other states easing their infringements, these two now stand out like sore thumbs.
