Since I stopped drinking wine years ago,

Believe it or not, Mr Ripley, there are actually some very strong Constituionalsits in CA. I had the Pleasure of having dinner with some fellow Appleseed Instructors while I was in Pomona last Feb. I can say without a doubt, all is not lost there quite yet. I admit they are few in numbers, but they are churnning out shoot after shoot and they nearly always are full lines
Check the Appleseed CA State board and look for Laylopro, Mr Pete, Justin, and Rocketman (yes, he is a real rocket scientist). These are some great guys and the are hard at work to help turn the tide.
