You're a gunshop though, you're "qualified" to replace a part. Being a lowly peon, I'm not qualified according to them. I've called for replacement parts multiple times and every single time I was told, "that needs to be replaced by a qualified gunsmith, we can't send it to you". Believe it or not, 1 part was a cracked grip panel, and the other was a pistol grip on a Sig rifle. Both times I was told that those items must be replaced by a qualified gunsmith and they can't send them to me for replacement, I would need to send the gun to them.We just got our replacement SP2022 guide rod from them last week...
The only time I've gotten them to send me parts was replacement magazine base-plates that I bought from them.
BTW, special note here, some of you may recall my review on the Sig 516 that we used in a 3-day firearms training course last summer. The guys doing that training have since gotten rid of ALL Sig rifles due to the issues they had with them. Speaks a lot about quality when somebody invests $30k into a bunch of rifles and sells them all less than a year later because of reliability & customer service issues.
Just curious here, but if I say wanted to keep a few spare parts for my Sig 556 rifle on the shelf, do you think Sig would sell them to me? Last I heard they weren't selling any spare parts critical to the operation. They made you send in the defective part to prove it was a replacement part. That may have changed, but it's still the fact that they even had a policy like that.
