That thing sounded like an F16 when it dove holeecow! I have been lucky enough to see several falcon strikes in Evansville, mostly downtown where the taller buildings and disgusting pigeons are.

It looks like a grey bolt of lightning and a cloud of feathers.

My brother out in Portland was watching his cat mouse a squirrel in the backyard, when FLASH! Falcon or hawk or something, too fast to identify, the squirrel just disappeared. He considered himself fortunate it wasn't the cat, but the cat was confused enough.

At the very end of the video, it looks like the guy has a leash.
Was the duck on a leash? Does that explain why they were so close to the kill?

    Awesome.

    Sometimes you're the windshield
    sometimes you're the bug
    Sometimes you're the Louisville Slugger
and sometimes you're the ball ...
    Sometimes you're the Peregrine falcon
    sometimes you're the duck

Anybody noticed that there seems to be a lot more birds of prey sitting around in trees, compared to years ago? I have a lot of windshield time with my job sometimes, between Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania and NY. I see a lot of Hawks and other birds of prey, and it seems like I see a lot more than when I was a kid.
