    According to Indiana, yes.

I would bet my life though that there's something in the Post Office employee handbook/regulations that prohibit PO employees from carrying weapons unless they are Postal Inspectors that are issued weapons.

I doubt it's a criminal thing, but she'd most likely lose her job if someone found out or she had to use it. That would be a call you guys would have to make for yourselves.

This is not legal advice. =)

    Hummmm.

Well I would not take it on postal property if I were her.

I have family that work at the post office and get this:
There was an EMPTY shell casing back in the sorting area and the
supervisor that found it had a fit and called in the postal inspectors
thinking someone put it there as some kind of threat.

Edit: I'm not a lawyer, but I did sleep with one last night.

I'm friends with the postal guy who delivers around downtown Indy. In a conversation we were having about protecting ourselves the other day, he claimed that the only thing he was permitted to carry at work was pepper spray. He has his LTCH but won't carry due to fear for his job. He didn't say whether it was an actual crime, or just against the USPS rules.

I've been fired for carrying a gun on the job.

Of course, if I hadn't had the gun, I'd almost certainly be dead by now.

Guess which I think is better? If I'd been a bit more of an activist then, I would have sued the store for failing to provide adequate security measures to prevent the weekly robberies.

Yeah, there's nothing quite like being held up at gunpoint to make you a believer in concealed carry.

I think it is her best interest not to carry on her route at this point . Think she better just carry pepper spray for now
