I may just be an old fat Indiana farm boy and dumber than a box of rocks, but I just don't get it.

    You can't justify this insanity:

    • If a guy pretends to be a woman, you are required to pretend with him.

    • Somehow it’s un-American for the census to count how many Americans are in America.

    • Russians influencing our elections are bad, but illegals voting in our elections are good.

    • Twenty is too young to drink a beer, but eighteen is old enough to vote or loin the military.

    • People who have never been to college should pay the debts of college students who took out huge loans for their degrees.

    • Immigrants with tuberculosis and polio (and now Covid too) are welcome, but you’d better be able to prove your dog is vaccinated.

    • Irish doctors and German engineers who want to immigrate to the US must go through a rigorous vetting process, but any illiterate gang member or terrorist who jumps the southern fence is welcome.

    • $5 billion for border security is too expensive, but $1.5 trillion for “free” health care is not.

    • If you cheat to get into college you go to prison, but if you cheat to get into the country you go to college for free.

    • If you cheat in an election nothing happens to you, but if you point out the mathematical errors of that election you are a conspiracy theorist & disdained.

    • People who say there is no such thing as gender are demanding a female President.

    • We see other countries going Socialist and collapsing, but it seems like a great plan for us.

    • Some people are held responsible for things that happened before they were born, and other people are not held responsible for what they are doing right now.

    • Criminals are caught-and-released to hurt more people, but stopping them is bad because it's a violation of their rights.

Nothing makes sense anymore - no values, no morals, and no civility. Where is the country I love headed? What Edmond Burke once said about evil and good men is even more relevant today than ever.

It cannot be explained because it is insanity, pure and simple. You are not alone in your despair for what our once-great nation has become but I take hope in the fact that lately the insanity has become so insane that even those who haven't been completely consumed by it are starting to see how insane it is. Once there is a groundswell of resistance not even the insanity that infects every level of government will be able to resist the overwhelming will of the popular majority. This is the trend of history, when enough oppressed people rise up and shake of their shackles of tyranny and it is the trend in American history for the pendulum of public sentiment to oscillate from one ideological extreme to the other, usually in proportion to the opposite. Therefore, as insane as it gets now, a resurgence of sanity and conservativism will likely flourish in the wake of a historic, defining reawakening of Americanism.

Although I hesitate to term it that way because there's no guarantee that what emerges will still be what we consider to be America. There is nothing permanent about America, in fact our founders readily admitted it was a grand experiment in self-governance and at this point one that's largely failed by predictable means. But humanity tends to repeat history and so it's entirely expected that through either a reawakening or re-establishment under a new charter the principles of America will carry on. However, that process is potentially not to reach fruition in our lifetimes.

It can only be a means of assault. This constant assault is like the frog on a hot plate, they turn it up slow as to dull our senses and alter our perceptions. It is all about power and control.

Remember, it is your social responsibility to wear two pairs of swim trunks to keep someone else from peeing in the pool...

You just nailed it Mongo. Every single part of that rings true...

Even better (worse?) than the pool idea is this:

It's your duty to wear a heavy winter coat all year, indoors and out, to make sure those around you stay warm.

wait... come to think of it, I've never heard ANYONE ever explain it, in any way, that ends with the conclusion that we should keep doing it.

The problem is that Edmond Burke thing... When evil has a firm hold, and the delusions run deep, it's very difficult to uproot. It requires decisive, sometimes drastic, measures. Logic, reason, wisdom, discusion, is no longer of any use. Evil knows it can win by ignoring these and just maintaining it's course.

Good men are reluctant to take drastic measures, and slower to act. That's part of being a good man! It's good to be tolerant. It's good to give a little to get along. It's good to refrain from forcing your will on others. Unfortunately, evil knows this and uses it. "Know your enemy and know yourself..." SunTzu and all.

Refrain too long, tolerate too much, give too much ... and pretty soon it's too late. Where is that point where good men can do what's needed to defeat evil, and still keep what makes them good? Is there such a point? That's another thing this old fat Hoosier can't explain.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
    Isaiah 5:20

    Just sayin...
Unfortunately, I don't think the minions doing evil care about the "Woe" part. I don't think they even consider it. In their delusion, I don't think they can even discern dark and light. To them, what's the Woe and why should they care? Those who seek Wisdom and listen for instruction aren't the problem. What about those who don't?

As the insanity grows, it's more and more "Woe to those who allow others to call evil good and good evil..." For the time, 'Woe is me', because I don't know what to do about it.

What you have identified is the direct result of going along to get along. Allowing small lies to go unchallenged because the truth hurts some people's feelings. Once that bleeding heart nonsense took hold everything began to change. "Politically correct" is just the term the left invented to replace "little lies".

You can't build a house on a foundation of soggy toast and expect to live in it happily ever after but we have allowed the vast majority of our 35 & under to be convinced that it isn't the soggy toast's fault and we need to be mindful of soggy toast's feelings and make soggy toast feel included so it's worth it, consequences be damned.

Someone convinced half a country that life can be forced to be fair.

If you have the patience for it, James Lindsay gives a lot of actually explainations in his books and podcast.

Like, if you really want to know the full 50 year history of how neo Marxists from the Frankfort School came to the US and marched through our institutions so they could get into positions to disrupt, destabilize, and degrade our comfortable system of productive capitalism in order to make people pissed off and discontent and more amenable to violent revolution and giving the nei Marxists all the power.

Because that's really what the clowning of America boils down to: Break and beclown EVERYTHING so the rubes will hand control to Marxists.

We all know what to do about it. But doing something will ruin our lives and probably the lives of our loved ones.
We're in a no win situation where good men can do nothing for if we do it brings more troubles on us and ours. We do not have the will of men past.
