All this talk about competition guns, got me looking at the CZ Shadow 2 on their site. I have shot the earlier model years ago and really liked it. I may have to get some more trigger time with one from a friend, you never know when the next best thing might come along.

There are only two pistols on my want list right now.
1-shadow 2 compact (I’d throw a Cajun gun works single action trigger, a delta point pro on it, a magazine well, and call it my new idpa gun!)
2-stealth arms platypus (they just released the new parts, bull barrel, prickle frame) and all I’d have to do there is add my delta point pro, and it’d be my new idpa gun

But either way I go, they’d both cost a lot more than a canik! Caniks just started coming into the country when the shop I worked at closed, so we only had one or two, and they seemed like well made guns and very underrated and under priced!

I am looking to expand into some more interesting firearms. I have been investigating Canik and CZ as well. I would like to know your favorite Canik whether it be the newer Mete or the older TP9sf. How is it getting parts or upgrades?
I just recently purchased a TP9 DA. And have loved it from the first round. The trigger is amazing. Would recommend for sure

I've got a tp9 sf and it has the best trigger on any gun I have and shoots to POA no matter what I out through it. I won't be keeping long as one of my granddaughters has laid claim to it when she turns 18 unless I find another tp9 sf for myself.

BPS carries Caniks, if it is online, you can get it at you local BPS, or Cabela's no transfer fee. I've talked to a lot of guys with Caniks, and they all love them..I want one really bad!

Another Canik fan. Easier and faster to get sights on target than any other handgun I've shot. Trigger has some creep to it, though as a two stage trigger fan, creep doesn't necessarily bother me. I shoot it better than any of my other handguns, except maybe good days with some .38's out of the S&W.

Well I guess someone has to rain on the parade.

I have witnessed two that had several malfunctions during a class.

I was informed that some of them need a break in ?

My girl has the Rival. She likes it so far. I’ve put probably 5-6 mags through it and she has done about a dozen

This thread almost makes me want to go get another Canik.
However, I've got my eyes on a 22 rifle for target shooting. It's on my bucket list so to speak.
The past couple years I've been shooting a lot of 22 rifle matches. There are three ranges near me that shoot the out to 200 meters. Shot NPCCC yesterday.

I haven't shot mine to give a complete answer to this, let alone try it in a class like you mentioned, however mine did have an initial break in period. It jammed a bit during the first magazine, however was flawless after that, even after almost 400 rounds it's first time out. I was using regular plain jane 115gr FMJ's, so maybe it doesn't like certain ammo types.

Turkey thanks you for your support.

Man, I hate turkey. I think I prefer chicken or even duck if it's cooked right.

I've also been seeing a lot of people call it Turkyie or something like that. Is this one of those Kiev vs. Keev situations? I had someone make fun of me once for saying Kiev, and I asked them if they call Mexico "Me-Hee-Coh", or Germany "Deutschland". If not, then calm the f down snowflake.

    :dunno: I feel your irritation.
When Caniks first became popular people that know better were constantly correcting mere mortal Mericans that the Turkish pronunciation is Shawneek.
    Yeah, but I'm not Turkish.

Had two different TP9SF Elite handguns and neither had any issues. Sold one to my nephew after around 500 problem free rounds and kept my other one until I traded it for something after about 2k problem free rounds. May be a luck factor going on, who knows? I've had Glock handguns that gave me more malfunctions than the Canik handguns I've owned, so I'm solidly in the camp that every manufacturer occasionally produces a lemon.

I think you quoted my post by accident. No mention of pronunciation anywhere.

Maybe Canik will release a Free Palestine Intifada-9 commemorative model soon.

I get it though. No one wants to support terror, but a budget priced P99 knockoff with a decent trigger is just too tempting for some. Maybe we'll get some sweet $299 Iranian pistols in the future.

I just read where endrogon if that's how it's spelled admitted to the Greek ambassador they have Hamas fighters in their hospitals.

    Off topic forgive me.

I could see him trying something like that but the left would only be interested in that I would think.
