    In Indiana, if you have a personal protection LTCH, then you can carry while hunting. It's referenced in the DNR's Hunting & Trapping Guide on page 8. Be aware also, that when hunting on certain areas such as Muscatatuck and military areas, handguns are not allowed at all.

    Carrying Firearms
    It is legal to carry a handgun while
    hunting deer during the archery, firearm and
    muzzleloader seasons, as long as the handgun is
    possessed under a personal protection permit. It
    is not legal to take a deer with a handgun except
    during the firearms and muzzleloader seasons

    and in compliance with DNR regulations.

    I heard that the law has changed on this issue recently. Where can I find the new law?

    A small detail to go with the previous response.

    There are DNR administrative regulations, not technically "the law" (i.e. explicit elements of the Indiana Code). So you can find the rules in DNR documents and probably on their web site
