Classifieds (Feeler)????

In the classifieds, I keep seeing reference to "feeler", what is meant by putting a "feeler" out there?

It means they dont really care if they sell it, so they put it out there for a high price just to see if anyone wants it. All it does is clutter the classifieds with over priced stuff and Im not sure if its even allowed in our classifieds

Its as if the TS needs to reassure the potential population of buyers that he "MAY" not sell unless he gets a deal he is comfortable with.

Just a feeler. I don't have to sell just "testing the waters" so if I don't get my asking price it goes back in the safe. LNIB Hi-Point 9mm pistol. Only 100 rounds through it with a FTE about every other round. Looks perfect. $350obo or trade for 1911
