Things are not looking good for our electric grid. The epa released new rules yesterday. It will require all coal power plants to capture all carbon by 2032 or shut down. It will lead to mass shutdowns as the industry has already said it was impossible.

Then the insane part. The few hydrogen powered plants that emit water and oxygen not carbon, are no longer considered a viable solution and removed from the rules as the best option. "Among the changes the EPA made to the carbon rule is dropping hydrogen as a "best system of emission reduction" for gas plants to achieve new standards." No when a natural gas plant has the option to burn hydrogen it should not lol. Instead it needs to burn natural gas and do carbon capture....insane.

The power industry was already warning it would destabilize the grid, the epa did not listen.

All the power companies need to just shut down for a week to get they're point across. "This is what it will look like when your rules kick in "

Little would be left of the world we know if power was shut down nationwide for a week. How would the masses get their 5 hours a day of indoctrination(tv) and without power no sanitation, water, or food.

States like California have been seeing previews of this for years now. It's unfazed them. They still keep voting for the same people that inflict those problems on them.

I am more convinced than ever, elections are not going to fix any of this.

They have been getting a preview version, with controlled outages(mostly) for 12 hours at a time. It has never been much longer than that. This will be something else. Days and days without power(sanitation, water, food). Kind of makes you wonder why they would ban gas stoves as it would be a way to cook/boil water without power. But not to worry that is just a conspiracy theory.

How is the division of electricity regulated when there isn't enough to go around? I remember the big blackout in the northeast in 03, which while widespread did not last long. Is there some sort of "electrical court/police" that can forcibly black out one section of the country to preferentially serve another?

If there's not, I'm sure there will be one to ensure equity.
