    CPS doesn't do anything without a court order and the concept of them trying to create more cases is laughable.

    Have you read the Adoption and Safe Families act?

    Did you miss the part about cash incentives for states that increase their adoption rates?

    Do you think that state governments don't like money?

    Excerpts from a report by Georgia Senator Nancy Schaefer.

    I have come to the conclusion:

    · that The Adoption and the Safe Families Act, set in motion by President Bill Clinton, offered cash “bonuses” to the states for every child they adopted out of foster care. In order to receive the “adoption incentive bonuses” local child protective services need more children. They must have merchandise (children) that sell and you must have plenty of them so the buyer can choose. Some counties are known to give a $4,000 bonus for each child adopted and an additional $2,000 for a “special needs” child. Employees work to keep the federal dollars flowing;

    · that there is double dipping. The funding continues as long as the child is out of the home. When a child in foster care is placed with a new family then “adoption bonus funds” are available. When a child is placed in a mental health facility and is on 16 drugs per day, like two children of a constituent of mine, more funds are involved;

    The Adoption & Safe Families Act passed 416-5 in Congress and was signed by Bill Clinton on 1/1/1998.

    Ron Paul was one of the few to oppose it.

    H.R. 867 (105th): Adoption and Safe Families Act of 1997 (On Passage of the Bill) -- GovTrack.us

    ‘(d) ADOPTION INCENTIVE PAYMENT-
    ‘(1) IN GENERAL- Except as provided in paragraph (2), the adoption incentive payment payable to a State for a fiscal year under this section shall be equal to the sum of--
    ‘(A) $4,000, multiplied by the amount (if any) by which the number of foster child adoptions in the State during the fiscal year exceeds the base number of foster child adoptions for the State for the fiscal year; and
    ‘(B) $2,000, multiplied by the amount (if any) by which the number of special needs adoptions in the State during the fiscal year exceeds the base number of special needs adoptions for the State for the fiscal year.

    Have you sat in the court hearings? Have you seen these families? Cried with them? You ever lose a day of work and give up all your free time to serve these families? You ever have a child beg you to protect them? You ever hold a teddy bear and have a child point to the places where they have to touch daddy? You ever have a child cry because they don't wanna see daddy hit mommy anymore? You ever see a child that hasn't eaten in days because mom and dad bought drugs instead of food?

    Do all of those things, and then rejoin this discussion.

    How about when the morons are confronted with children like this, let an abusing parent laugh it off, call the investigation closed, but then proceed to completely f**k up the life of a man who, as a juror, I would have walked solely on the content of the papers sent to him by the prosecutor (more so with additional information beyond that)?

    Oh, and by the way, your damned condescending attitude is getting old. A front row seat is not necessary to comprehend the difference between right and wrong, and it is pitiful that there are people like you who don't care in the least about the collateral damage and truth be told probably a neutral effect on the overall problem so long as you can claim your self-righteous badge as a 'defender of children'.

    Seriously? I have to see all of that with my own eyes before I can join a conversation?

    My kids may be hungry, but damnit I have beer and cigarettes

    You might say that I find your pompous blind faith in a system that I have seen leave a swath of destruction in its wake disturbs me, but not nearly so much as the fact that it is allowed to continue unabated. You might try to understand why some of us would consider people who would allow chronic and flagrant assaults against liberty so long as 'it's for the children' to be enemies of the republic and of free citizens.

    Carol Rhodes, CPS insider, tells about how the financial incentives to rack up adoption numbers outweighed every philanthropic motive. Workers were threatened to lose their jobs if they spoke out or helped the parties involved. "It was all about money," she says. "Increasing the child support money that came into the office was the goal for each of us. We were rated according to how much money we brought in."

    She wrote the book, Friend of the Court, Enemy of the Family.

    Here's a 15-minute documentary that exposes some other aspects of CPS corruption that have not yet been mentioned. One is how parents who buck back against the system face retaliation from the unaccountable bureaucracy. This video mentions a case where a mother appealed a CPS abduction, and was punished by CPS taking the remaining 3 of her children, and took children from her extended family. When she hired a lawyer, CPS took away his daughter too. Poor parents are targeted more often because they lack the wherewithal to hire attorneys and fight back against the system. Its becomes easy takings for the adoption industry, which places a higher sale value of a white baby than a black baby.

    We find ourselves right back to .gov intervention 101: Start with a genuine problem, sensationalize it, introduce a solution that does little or nothing toward remedying the actual problem but does much to further a hidden political/financial agenda, and rely on the useful idiots to join in chanting "IT'S FOR THE CHILDREN!" After that, sit back and watch the destruction while the ostensible problem used to justify the government intervention continues more or less unabated.
