Looking for a cucv with the 6.2 diesel. It can be pretty much anywhere in the state as long as its in good running and driving shape and priced well. Lets be honest it's a truck that has heat defrost and is not made for the highway it needs to be priced as such.

Located closer to west Lafayette is a plus but as I said not a killer if its in good shape. Prefer it to not be real rusty. I do enough brake lines and shackles at work.

Go to steel soldiers .com there are always a few in the WTS section. There were a couple on craigslist as well. If you're willing to drive there is one in Ill for 3500. Another in fywayne for 5400

Not to hijack, but 1009s (blazer) are geared to 3.08 and are GREAT highway vehicles. I have one that I have driven all over 5 states and get around 18-20 mpg (if kept under 65 - at 75 the economy drops to 15). Not bad for a huge steel anchor with the aerodynamics of a house...

The other variants are geared to 4.56 and are significantly highway challenged when in stock form.

Check out Steel Soldiers but these things are getting a bit harder to find.

    Good luck!

Another option if you're looking for a military diesel truck is buying a 2 1/2 or 5 ton. You should be able to get one for less than 5,000. If you don't like the 6 wheels you can remove the rear axel and replace the bed with an m100 series trailer bed.

Wow there was a lot more response than I thought. I kick myself for not buying them when they were real cheap but I already have an offroad toy. I have a banks kit for a 6.2 sitting around and I figure I can at least make a second toy out of it
