Paid state fee and l1 (5-21-15)
    Finger printed (5-22-15)
Local fee paid (5-27-15) that day I was approved by the local impd it's been on pending ISP ever since
I was arrested some years back never convicted the judge felt how the police went about the situation unlawfully and lack of evedence. Its nothing violent and is the only thing on my record..local approved me so I'm trying to have good feelings about this

I was approved today 6-23-2015. I had to send an email to get the ball rolling, what with all these random shootings and most are unpleasantly too close to home..I'd like to have that option of being able to carry to protect my family

Little over a month, that seems like a long wait for now. Did you have a record by chance? My fiancé just applied today.

Yeah I have a record, nothing that would make me an improper person of course. Was starting to think about sending them an email to make sure I didn't goof up the application somewhere. It didn't go from local approval to pending ISP approval for about a week which may have also contributed to how long it took.

Oh ok, must have sat at the local for a while. Congrats on the license!

    Hi, Lectric.

Well, I'm back on this thread since my wife is finally getting her LTCH. We'll see how it goes. She's going to pay local when we get the money on July 10. I bet she won't have to wait a day shy of 4 months like I did.

Seems people with no record filing online have been getting them within 2 weeks recently.

5 days?!? That seems impossible for government workers. I paid my local extortion fee yesterday and it's showing "waiting local approval".

Still trying to figure out why I have to pay the state and the local fees. You cannot make me believe one or the other would not suffice. What the hell do they do besides check NCIC?

Well, I am still waiting. The web site says "pending local approval", which when you hover over that statement it says something like "Applicant still needs to visit their local law enforcement agency to pay the local fee and have the application transferred to the ISP". I did that back on 6/25. Is this "normal", or should I be concerned? I have no record at all, and thought this would go quickly. Next Thursday will be 4 weeks since I turned in the information to the Westfield PD.

Is this worth a visit to the WPD, or should I just be patient?

How do you check online for your status? They gave me a link, but it was more like a FAQ page.

4 weeks is pretty long for local approval. I would give the WPD Clerk a call and ask about the status. If it's still pending local approval, either the PD hasn't sent it in yet, or the ISP didn't receive it.

My wife's arrived in the mail 5 days later after they pressed Enter at the local police dept. I'd rattle some cages.

I went down to the WPD office today, and this time there was a different woman at the front desk. She said 4 week wait times (or more) are normal, and she usually tells people 4-5 weeks (the first lady told me to check back in 2 weeks if I had not heard anything). This new lady said she is the lady that processes them, so I am trusting her response more so than the first person I talked to. She also said that the Chief needs to sign off on them, and he had been out on vacation (due back "tomorrow"). She said I should expect to wait another 3-4 weeks.

Sheesh. I am disappointed, but I guess "it is what it is". Patience is not one of my strong suites! :crying:

Overall, she was very nice about it, but just that it would take longer. She did acknowledge that she had my application, which is a good thing! Sounds like this is going to take 7-8 weeks total.
