I have been looking for a handy bolt-action centerfire rifle. If you have experience with both, I would appreciate your opinion on how they compare. I read that the CZ has an adjustable trigger, but not sure if it really matters. Both seem easy enough to clean. Ruger posts excellent videos, but I could not find a good one on a 527, only a pictorial manual in Czech. Any feeding issues with either? Is a short .223 rifle more pleasant to shoot than a 7.62? :bowdown:Looking forward to your advice.

I had a CZ527 carbine in 223. It was top notch quality and I never had any feeding issues. I'm not sure if my trigger was adjustable but it was a set trigger if you like that function. The recoil was very manageable and I'd guess the 7.62x39 would be too.

Sounds good. I just have to get to know her (the rifle) by the way of field-stripping. Until then I don't feel like the rightful owner. Speaking of triggers, turns out there is a Savage 10 Carbine with a safety tab (they call it Accutrigger or so) that looks like a Glock. Never seen one, but the idea is appealing, in case it drops on concrete when chambered. But it has a 20" barrel. I wanted the shortest carbine, that being the Ruger 16.5" barrel and the CZ at 18" I guess it will come down to how it feels when you hold 'er. Thanks again!
