Thinking about getting a CZ527 in 300 BLK to use for deer season this year. Anyone picked one up yet? I'm a huge CZ whore and was thinking that a bolt gun might make a better suppressor host than an AR. Any opinions?

While I can't speak to the CZ, I have the cheaper Ruger American in 300BLK, and I can vouch for the round in a bolt gun. Not only is it giggle-inducing quiet with suppressed subsonics, but the supersonic hunting ammo works beautifully on deer. Punched through the shoulder and both lungs on a big deer with enough energy to still exit on the other side.

    I'm a big believer in 300BLK now!

I took a deer with my VZ58 this past season. It's a 7.62x39. The ballistics between 300Blk and x39 is virtually identical sub 200 yards. I would have no hesitation whatsoever using a 300Blk on a whitetail. Especially in its preferred setup- using sub-sonics through a can ;)

Grrrrr....that was on my list of things to do but missed out this deer season!

Sooooo looking forward to pounding one with my VZ-2008....she may get shelved next year in favor of the Ruger American I have in 7.62X39 though...:dunno:

Can't help with the 300, but the 527 Carbine in 7.62X39 calls to me.

I had every intention of picking one up in x39 up until CZ released the 527 in 300Blk... I've since decided that I want to be able to shoot all of my rifles suppressed and 300blk offers significantly better load selections for shooting with a can.

It was super satisfying to take a deer with it. lol It has a Holosun 503G ACSS micro red dot on it. I was using 123gr Hornady SSTs. 60 yards from a stand, right behind the shoulder, eviscerated one lung, perforated the other. no exit wound. She ran about 50 yards before she bled out internally.
