Just curious why not a relatively stock 1911 stock Dan Wesson? It has most of what I would like, arched main spring housing, Commander size, non stainless, small safety.
Yea like their CZ 1911 was entry level,, find one of those at a fair price.
Well isnt the DW the OP speaks of a limited run?Again that was a very limited production run and people got wind Dan Wesson was involved and prices shot up.... A cheap Dan Wesson is still $1200 minimum

New from Dan Wesson: A2, Fury, Blued Valor, Specialist Commander and Pointman Carry - The Truth About Guns
Read the article, sad thing is the A2 is probably the least impressive DW on the list. I personally like the new Specialist Commander that is just badass.

IMO Dan Wesson makes stuff that can compete with 1911's far above their price point. I want a Heritage bad.
There are still CZ 1911s to be had out there for under $800. That's a steal given the quality of the gun. The Outdoorsman in Greenwood has 2 and The Men's Toyshop in Nashville has one for $769. When I compare my CZ 1911 to my DW CCO, the quality is every bit as good with one exception: The rear face of the extractor is not as nicely finished. Other than that, internally they are identical. Forged frame/slide and tool steel ignition components with a true radius sear and DW quality for less than $800 really is a steal.
