I may go with yours little brother…… still unsure if a backpack is the answer to what I am looking for might be a bit much for edc….
Sling bag = too tactical drawing attention
Fanny pack = too small and I don’t like the way it distributes weight and affects cc
Back pack = unknown possibly too big

Real quagmire here if it weren’t for drawing attention sling bag is almost perfect albeit it touch small and not much for organization with limited space

I have the 22L Talon. 11L is very small, but if it fits your need then it is a good fit.

I tend to carry more than I need, and use it for day hiking as well. My Talon goes most everywhere I do.

Do not get the extended fit of either unless you are a very...very large person.

Is the extended fit the size selection? S/m vs lg/xl

Rei website doesn’t explain that much when selecting atleast I don’t see it

Arc'teryx makes some good ones. Definitely don't scream 'gun bag'.

Only reason I have one is son gets crazy discounts on their stuff through his work.

I think the xl is the only one that is the extended fit. You can order on the Osprey site also,as they make it very clear which is the extended fit.
