I'm not sure this is a worthwhile battleground. Standards, measurements, and time seem kind of arbitrary, and we do all need to agree on something, whether set by DC or by Bubba next door. I know some of you tell you wives and girlfriends "this much is 10 inches," but the end result is that they can't gauge distance, always overestimating things.

Damnit! I take it back! I just lost an hour! I thought I was going to gain an hour, but now that I have less time to just hang out in the bed in the morning, I totally see the point about big government. This is what socialism is doing to us: less sleep, less time in bed, no nubile girls, and probably even NO BACON! Restore the constitution, get more sleep, two girls for every boy, and bacon all around!

Mitch needs to be beaten for that! His buddy George should have been able to explain to him that there is a reason why the military bombs people between 02:30 and 03:30 local solar time, specifically, because that is when most humans sleep the most soundly and are the least alert if they are awake. He started this nonsense back when I had a clock-punching job and had to clock in at 06:00, after getting up, eating, and driving the better part of an hour, which meant I had to get up at 04:00 EDT which is one hour fast by virtue of aligning with the wrong time zone and another hour fast by virtue of DST, which put me getting up at 02:00 local solar time--when I should have been getting my soundest sleep. No wonder I felt terrible most of the time, and rolled out of bed every morning wanting to get my hands on that little twerp. Oh, did I fail to mention that I am not a morning person.

I'm not sure this is a worthwhile battleground.

This is just proof that there is nothing on this planet that is too petty for people to complain about on a regular basis. Every six months, a dozen whining threads get started on INGO about DST. It's time for Hoosiers to either get over it or work to eliminate DST nationally. It makes no sense for Indiana to be the only state in the country to not use DST. Either everyone should or no one should.

    People always forgetting Arizona.

I am all for eliminating DST nationally, and I am an American dammit, it's my right to whine about whatever I want to whine about. Or would you rather I whine about how hard it is to buy cigarettes and beer with my welfare check?

I would much rather have DST. I don't know why anyone would complain about having more daylight in the evening. I can actually get things done after I get home from work. My :twocents:.

What's with the picture of the US Capitol? Putting Indiana on DST didn't come from Washington. It was pushed by a Republican (the party of small gubmit) job creator, and approved by a Republican legislature.

Please don't interrupt the hate-fest. It's oh-so-important whether our clocks read 8:00 or 9:00 when the sun hits a certain point.

Considering for a very long time people managed their daily schedule by the sun itself and not some clock, I find it very difficult to sympathize with all the *****ing. Who cares what the clock says?

My wife comments that the days are getting longer since I keep coming home a few minutes later each day.
Guess DST is just a way to get the masses going an hour earlier?
