Are 226, 228, and 229 9mm magazines all interchangeable?

No. The 226,228 will fit a little looser in the 229 but the 229 mag is wider
The newer "228" M11A1 uses 229-1 mags

Provided all are 9mm....

226 Mags will run in 228/229

228/9 will NOT run in 226 (Too Short)

Not sure on 229 in 228

Just another post confirming the above. P226 mags work in P228s, but P228 mags are too short for P226s. Don't have a P229 to confirm interchangeability.

I use 226 mags in my 229. They work find although they hang out of the grip a little. There are new magazine base plates available that will make up that space. Check out X-grip magazine extensions.
