Don't worry, our representatives will work this our for all of us to see. Wait, nevermind....

Indefinite military detention for U.S. citizens now in the hands of a secretive conference committee - Blog - OpenCongress

With the House having voted 406-17 to “close” portions of the meetings and avoid public scrutiny, members from both chambers and both parties are meeting in a secretive conference committee to work on reconciling the differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill.

406-17...to make the discussion on the controversial legislation....private.

    Transparency must have different meanings.

I see Mike Pence was one of the 406. Unless he votes against this bill, he will never have my vote again. I'll vote for a damn socialist before I vote for someone who wants to do away with the entire BOR.

Of course he did. Pence is a player to the core.

Apparently that Tea Party thing didn't stick. Only two R(s) voted to not craft the legislation in secrecy. Amash, and...well, you know who the other is.

If you're a nationalist and you wave the flag hard enough, eventually people will call you a patriot, and then you can take away whatever freedom you want.

Welcome to the brave new world. At least McCarthy held hearings...

So basically domestic terrorists will be handled by the military and not by the civilian authorities. There are a couple ways to look at this, but I don't think it is intended to be used the way some people are getting worked up over.

Anyone who thinks terrorists and the like deserve the same treatment as a run of the mill felon is wrong. The last thing we need is someone going to a jail where they can spread their ideas and propaganda making even more people a danger to our society.

This article is not showing you the whole picture and leading people to come to a very specific conclusion. It is biased and I suggest if you want to learn about what this article is covering, you look for solid information and not propaganda.

Every article this guy writes is about conspiracy theories. They have literally no credit. He's still asking about what happened on 9-11... Seriously? We know what happened. People took credit for it right afterwards. We kill and continue to hunt them down. There is nothing else to say about the matter.

This forum shouldn't be used to spread this kind of toxic filth. Basically he just slanders our government. I'm not talking about having legitimate concerns about mistakes we have made as a country, I am talking about using speculation and fear to encourage dissent against our leaders and military.

Please someone tell me that I'm not the only one on this board who thinks this kinda garbage should not be spread around.

406-17 ? Where are the other 12? Dead? Out campaigning? Eating turkey leftovers?

Voting "present?" Oh, that's just the guy in the big boy chair.

People don't understand that concept. THere's a rather heated (on my part anyway) discussion on an email list about CPS. Some supposedly conservative people are advising a mother just to let CPS in and comply with all the requests despite no legal authority to make them because "it will be worse for her if she exercises her rights." I had to bow out of the conversation to avoid getting kicked out. *I* was being made out to be the bad guy for telling her to protect herself and her kids (which incidentally have already been illegally removed from her home once).

People cannot grasp the 'use it or lose it' reality.

Most conspiracy theories are absolute garbage. Take all the 9-11 conspiracies. Everything is invented to make you question whether or not terrorists in the middle east are crazy enough to hijack planes and use them to attack us. It's very simple. If you actually believe that our US Government set this up, you would have already moved out of the country for fear that you and your family was in danger.

No? Still in the states? Shut up and quit spreading rumors based on some super liberal college students theories. You are truly blessed to be in one of the only civilized countries to not force you into military service and see what terrorists are capable of.

I can't believe I am actually wasting my time on this. Some people don't deserve to be American.

I first heard about this from C-Span. I found this article later on. You know, between my Muslim prayer time and the time I spend telling myself how much I hate America.
