While there are a dozen things that I really dislike about Representative Joe Donnelly he is pretty solidly pro-gun. He is planning to run for the Senate against Dick Lugar --- assuming that Lugar survives the primary election against Tea Party favorite Richard Murdoch.

Link to Joe Donnelly on the issues page. Despite being pro-gun, this guy is a big-government liberal/populist on almost every other issue => Joe Donnelly on VoteMatch

That is one of the problems with todays political system. As terrible as it sounds, I would have to vote for Luger over a pro-gun candidate that goes against everything thing else I believe in. Most times, we are just not given a real choice. You either get a real creep or you get a guy that says he is pro-gun, but seems to follow the liberal drum beat for everything else. How long do you think that he would remain pro-gun after getting to be senator with a 6 year term? I would bet that his spots would change almost immediately once he became one of those isolated, insulated and alienated 100.

Then you will get WORSE than Lugar. Everything that we hate about Lugar is multiplied by 10x with Joe Donnelly.

Exactly, it would be a lesser of two evils decision. Plus, if Donnelly wins, he helps the socialists retain Senate control. Better to see Lugar lose in the primary and Mourdock beats Donnelly.

This may be a premature assumption. Murdoch seems to be gaining support.

Between Joe D. and MURDOUCK! Lugar is a turd. Donnelly is worse. Tells his constituency (me, for one) one thing and votes the opposite.

Get Mourdock on the ballot. Vote in the primary!

I would love to see a Republican controlled house, and democrat controlled senate so we can split and not vote in many of the more extreme ideas.

How about we don't concede the election to Lugar and instead vote in the primary for Richard Mourdoch???? If we all, every firearm owner, lover or just dreamer and our relatives, and friends we can influence got off his or her dead butt and voted in the primary there is a very good chance we could get Lugar to where we don't have to worry about him being the lessor of two evils!!!

Right on! Lugar needs to go bye bye in the primary!

Correction. According to the article, he is not planning on running against Lugar. It states he is planning on running because he thinks Lugar will lose the primary.

Grid lock is your solution? Not to be inflamatory, but why wish for that?

I'd personally like to see senators and representative with common sense that rule them, ears that hear their constituency, spines that keep them straight and wallets that are NOT stuffed full of contributions from lobbyists.

I'd also like to see a public that is more involved in the governing of our nation than it is in texting 'vote' to their favorite American Idol contestant.

I'd like to see legislation that makes sense and doesn't have to pander to special interest groups, be "for the children", or "for our safety and security".

I'd like to see the United States Consititution followed to the letter and all laws that are to the contrary struck down.

I guess that's too much to ask, isn't it? Maybe grid lock is the lesser of the two evils.

Dump the Dick and the Donnelly!!!

I think because the perception is we can't get any better. I agree with you, I wish the government would be taken over by right thinking Americans that would cut the government by at least half in size. Get rid of most transfer payment programs. Return us to much of the status pre civil war.
