    Well, here it is:

    Assault Weapons - Issues - United States Senator Dianne Feinstein

    And it's way worse than the 1994 ban.

    Following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:
    • Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
      • 120 specifically-named firearms
      • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
      • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds
    • Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
      • Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
      • Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
      • Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
    • Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
    • Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:
      • Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
      • Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
      • Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons
    • Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
      • Background check of owner and any transferee;
      • Type and serial number of the firearm;
      • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
      • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
      • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration
    A pdf of the bill summary is available here.

    We have to make sure that this farce of a law never makes it in the books! I also think that Feinstein should be arrested and tried as a traitor... She is attempting to circumvent the Constitution... I'm pretty sure that falls in the high treason category.

    Yikes is right. I think it creates a national database of ALL firearms, with everyone one of us to be photographed & fingerprinted. & it puts on us the burden of getting the local PD to certify that I am who I am??? Not only that, it pretty much eliminates the private sale or transfer of firearms without a background check.

    Take ACTION NOW!!!!

    ALL OF US need to be contacting our representatives in congress to let our voices be heard!!! This is an all out assault on the Constitution of the United States and we must treat it as such!

    Find your rep http://www.house.gov/
    Find your Senator http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm?State=IN

    Email them, call them, write them... we need to flood our members of congress to let them know that this violation will not be tolerated!

    The time for action is now... we cannot sit idly by and watch the rest of our freedoms be taken from us!

    I want to see the 120 specific firearms. My rifle's only military feature is being painted black. However, my SKS is a military weapon actually made for war but is not an "assault rifle."

    I would also like to know where in the 2nd Amendment hunters' rights are protected over that of self defence.

    The "find your senator" link is broken. LOLs. Anyone have contact info that they can post?

    If this does passed, will they allow us to do SBR's on these NFA weapons, or is that a separate taxation?
