    Probably a total coincidence.
    News from The Associated Press

Putin added that in the future Russia may also work on the development of its own missile defense systems, but will now focus primarily on commissioning new strike weapons. He said that over the past three years Russian arms makers already have built and tested prospective weapons systems, "which are capable of performing combat tasks in spite of the multi-echelon missile defense system."
"Such systems have begun to enter combat duty this year," Putin said without elaborating.

Interesting follow-up... we now kinda know how Russia will get through the missile shield: underwater.
Russia reveals giant nuclear torpedo in state TV 'leak' - BBC News
The Kremlin says secret plans for a Russian long-range nuclear torpedo - called "Status-6" - should not have appeared on Russian TV news.
    ...
On the diagram the giant torpedo's range is given as "up to 10,000km" (6,200 miles) and depth of trajectory is "up to 1,000m" (3,300ft).
...Rossiiskaya Gazeta called the torpedo a "robotic mini-submarine", travelling at 100 knots (185km/h; 115mph), which would "avoid all acoustic tracking devices and other traps".

At 100 kts underwater it isn't going to avoid acoustic tracking, and in fact would be trackable acoustically from quite a distance indeed. The sustained energy output for a 6200 mi run at those speeds would be colossal. As stated, that idea would need some work. An underwater 'cruise missile' though, autonomous, slow and stealthy would be a different thing altogether

China and Russia are just standing by waiting and watching our nation fall apart with our politically correct fantasies destroying us from the inside. The Russians and Chinese are never afraid to call a spade a spade. That is their strength and our inability to do so is our weakness and will be our downfall if things don't change soon.

Yeah we are sadly ( or most of the voters) doing the work that various armies could not do and destroy the nation.

So this is interesting. Power has basically been cut off to the Crimean from the Ukrainian side.
Crimea hit by power blackout and Ukraine trade boycott - BBC News

Unorganized groups are preventing efforts to repair the pylons, including the Crimean Tatars.

Russia has blamed Ukrainian nationalists from far-right party Right Sector and Crimean Tatar activists for the pylon damage, calling it "an act of terrorism".
A Crimean Tatar activist told Ukraine's TV news broadcaster 112 Ukrayina that Russia must release "political prisoners" and let their leader return to Crimea in exchange for repairs to the power lines.

So when Russia starts bombing the Ukraine to root out the terrorists, I wonder what we will do....

At this point, I think logic is too much to expect. I'm just hoping for a reasonable amount of emotion.

-Russia is getting pwnd in the global markets
-ISIS has just made Putin look like an idiot, so now he's trying to save face in the ME
    -It's Winter

How much support do you think Russia is willing to give to the rebels? Material and manpower to support a military winter campaign, I think would be hard to come by.

Yea this is really not good. Like someone else said, Turkey is part of NATO and one of our allies. Then you have Russia... Cuba and China are backing Russia... It seems like everything is slowly heading for war.... Anyone have any extra tinfoil , mine has a little pizza grease on it

Always keep in mind that this is not the same Turkey that joined NATO. They were secular back then, it is now run by Islamic fundamentalists.
