Well, I suggest instead of angry ranting calls and threats to remove him from office we thank him for the good votes and encourage him to continue voting the way we would like him to. If he thinks the "right" is gonna hate him no matter what, he will have no reason to continue to vote our way at all. /sigh. Yep, once again, l'm suggesting we allow reason and compromise to overpower the primal urge to strike out and do more damage than good all in the name of principles. Maybe he won't turn out to bad if we continue to encourage him and let him know that he has our support if he truly represents this. 6 years is a long time. We can give him a chance and some encouragement and judge him when we have a chance to do anything about it; ie the next election.

He actually voted much better than party line IMO, even if he didn't go 100% INGO on it.

If you vote for a democRAT you going to get a democRAT.

I mostly agree with this statement but there has been a rash of Republicans Lugar, Romney, to just name a couple that have been less than supportive to anything concerning the 2nd amendment and most things traditionally conservative. Both parties politicians try to just give just enough to their voters along with just giving enough to the lobbyist to line their pockets while staying in office. There are some good guys but they are the minority. My Grandpa has said it for years the only way to fix government, is 2 term limit for every office, keep taking the trash out........

Thanks for all the replies. The info is appreciated.

Posting here is little more than a feel-good thing for us. Nothing wrong with that but don't miss the opportunity to thank Dan Coats for his votes against Toomey-Manchin as well as the UN Small Arms Treaty. I also sent Donnelly an email just to let him know his vote for UBC will not be forgotten. In slightly different and polite terminology I told him either he is unaware of the current background check requirements or he is a liar. Ignorant or liar doesn't matter. He needs to lose his seat when the time comes.

    Care to share his e-mail?
Sending him an e-mail was the first thing that come to my mind when I saw he voted for it. I want him to know my/our side of this and how it will make a difference the next time I'm standing at the poll booth.

Hanging around these gun forums are causing me to get more involved in politics. Which I never really followed, but I understand now that we have to be proactive. I haven't been doing my part, but you can bet money that has changed greatly during the past couple elections.

    Dear Mr. Myers,

I am a supporter of the Second Amendment, and I have voted to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners. Like all Americans, I was shaken to my core by the senseless murders of 20 children in Newtown, Connecticut. It is only reasonable for all of us to consider ways to reduce the likelihood of a tragedy like that happening again.
Whether a gun owner or not, a Democrat or a Republican, everyone would agree that we can take steps to reduce violent crime without sacrificing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens. My concern is not those who follow the law, but those who do not. For this reason, I will not support legislation that would ban the sale of assault weapons to those who obey the law. I will, however, give serious consideration to proposals that would keep guns out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill, while preserving the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding gun owners.

It is a privilege to represent you and all Hoosiers in the U.S. Senate. Your continued correspondence is welcome and helps me to better represent our state. I encourage you to write, call, or email if my office can ever be of assistance. You can also check out my Facebook page and follow me on Twitter by visiting mywebsite.

He's a Democrat. There are NO 'pro-gun' Democrats.

Democrats are NOT 'liberal', nor are they 'progressive'. Nor are they users 'common sense'.

Democrats believe strict dictatorial and totalitarian control of everything by the government makes for the 'ideal Utopia'.

Democrats ascribe to (choose one or all) Socialism, Communism, Stalinism, Leninism, Fascism, and Nazism. Total dictatorship is fine because 'they know what's best for you'.

I think that pretty well covers it for now. :D

Donnelly is a left-wing Marxist who we knew would vote down the line for the BHO agenda. That is why thousands of us worked our tails off to try to get Richard Mourdoch elected -- he would have been a great conservative voice of reason. Why didn't Mourdock get elected? Two reasons. First and foremost, Dick Lugar was so angry at getting defeated in the primary that he and his staff and supporters worked against Mourdock, instead of supporting their own party. I will NEVER forgive him for his pettiness and personal instead of Constitutional focus. Secondly, a rape comment near the election that the government-run media distorted wildly to turn women against Mourdock. Absolutely disgusting.

So, is the Republican/Tea Party going to p**s and moan about him, or are they going to put up a viable candidate against him? All this 2A talk, and I'm with ya, but the problem is the fact that if some schmo runs against him with equal or little NRA rating, my guess is that he will win again.

You make it sound like running a candidate for Federal elected office is as simple as running down to the corner or local tavern or church and grabbing someone to run. Truth is most people don't want to put themselves let alone their family through that meat grinder. And you would need to find close to half a dozen of them or more in order to find 1 or 2 that will stand up to the scrutiny and abuse from the leftist media and politicians as well as those from their own party. Not to mention lukewarm, spotty support from their own party. The Dems only have to worry about each other as the media will neutral with them.

Being a Conservative and/or Republican running for national office takes a special kind of conservative politician. And there ain't many of those that are worth voting for.
