I wish they would actually go to a gun range a listen to a suppressed firearm being shot, then maybe they would understand why we would want them & why even if criminals did use them it would not silence the firearm to that of which they see in the movies. They don't wanna use facts. That's why they prefer to mislead and insist on using improper phraseology like "silencers" instead of what they actually are. Sound Suppressors.

"Silencer" denotes absence of any sound which is simply not the case. But that's what they want people to believe.
