Cheapskate! The young lady needs a trip to the LGS to pick out whatever she likes!

Incidentally, if the perp had to be airlifted to (presumably a more capable than the local) hospital, he must have come about a close as you get and get hauled in alive.

    +1 on this......out of rep.

As I had said on there, for the girls sake, im glad that idiot lived. However, this time in prison, would be nice if karma moved in and helped him out of the gene pool.

Agree, that would be too much trauma on a 12 year old. I'm sure she is facing enough as it is.
    However, cheers to her!!

I bet she was a 5 year old girl once! Seriously, the parents should be very proud of their daughter. I am a strong believer that responsible kids should have access to at least one gun in the house for self defence. I grew up around guns, and my kids all grew up around guns in my house. My grandmother taught me to treat all the guns in her house as if they were loaded, because they were, for a reason.

Can you imagine what could have happened had the parents not had a gun in the home. I hear it all the time: "We don't have guns; there are kids in the home." Even though the little girl had never shot before, it seems like she has been taught some gun safety--or at least gun respect. Thank God that we're reading about a perp being shot instead of another injured/raped/dead child!

If there's one good thing about inmates, it's that they'll give this SOB his just desserts while he's in the slammer.
