Has anyone ever owned or used a double stack mag 1911? I only have 1911s and have never had the desire for any other type of handgun.. I was curious if it was worth doubling my mag capacity and sacrificing the traditional 1911 style..

I have a para p14-45 limited in stainless, had it for awhile now. If yer looking for a double stack 1911, its the way to go. I always load the mag to 13 rounds as the 14 is a major PITA to get in. Its one of the nicest shooting guns i have.

I have to agree about this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
I have had a limited in stainless for a long time. It is a great shooter with so few issues in the 18 years I have owned it.
Also have a P-12 alloy and it will accept the P-14 mags. Both have been really good pieces.

Edit....I had an LDA and seriously hated the gun. It had some issues that required a lot of work to get right. It is GONE........

If it's double stack then it's not a 1911. Same goes for LDA triggers and calibers other than .45 acp.

I have several double stack 1911 pistols.

One is the ultra compact 10 shot Para Warthog. Its an "Officer" sized 1911, but holds 10 rounds.

The other is a "Commander" sized Detonics MTX. It has 12 round magazines and an ergonomic grip that mimics the shape of the Browning HP.
