I was looking at a DPMS recon in .308. Seemed like a good price for everything It comes with and seems that it can be upgraded. I have no experience with Dpms or ar 10 platforms, so i was looking for input anyone might have on it. Just want it for the range and to tinker around with. Thanks for any help

I've got the 16" carbine. It's been completely reliable and decently accurate for me. I have had a few failure to fire out of it with cheap ammo, but the primer strikes were centered and deep so probably ammo related. Accuracy wise, I've taken it out to 400yd. and get about 3 moa accuracy from prone with Wolf steel cased ammo. It could probably do better with a rest and a good handload. Mine is bone stock so I can't say anything about upgrades.

I don't know about the "Recon", but I've got a DPMS LRT SASS in .308.

    Talk about sweet!

No failures or difficulties yet, but I've got less than 75 rounds down the barrel, and I've only used Remington Cor-Lokt ammunition in it.
