    My hunting partner has been chomping at the bit for this law to change. I think it absolutely needs to, there is no sporting reason to allow a wounded animal to suffer for days before dying when we have the tech available to prevent it.

    There is zero doubt that if it passes there will be people using thermal drones to cheat. I'd like to see language written in about automatically forfeiting the drone should someone be convicted of using one to unlawfully take an animal. Otherwise it'll be just another worthless game law that the prosecutors and judges don't care about so few will bother to obey it.

    I agree that there should be restrictions on flying over other's property. That said, having seen these drones in action, specifically what they can see without disturbing the deer, I'd much sooner give permission to someone wanting to track a wounded deer on my property with a drone than walking in.
