Does anyone know if occasionally dry firing an FNP45 will damage the gun or are they safe to dry fire like the glocks? The manual states not to dry fire because "there could be a round in the chamber" but says nothing about it damaging the pistol. I may shoot it in the FNS and as I read on the website you need to dry fire as part of showing the gun is cleared. (I use snap caps at home for dry fire practice) Thanks for any info on this.

I've dry-fired my handguns countless thousands of times throughout the years and have never had any sort of problem. With a modern handgun it's not an issue, especially if you're worried about doing it a few times at FNS. Unless there's a manufacturing defect you're good to go.

Modern centerfire should not be an issue as others have stated, with or without magazine should not matter.

Rimfires may be a different story, but you should be good to go.
