Bald Eagles have become so commonplace in Indiana that I'm tempted to not even look at them anymore. But I always do, because sometimes one turns out to be a Golden.
I was going to serve a warrant the other day and a eagle swooped down and snatched a fish out of the river right in front of me. It was awesome. He or she I guess sat right in the field and ate it. Was very cool. I watched for a minute and then continued on but it was very awesome.
I didn't even know we had goldens here in Indiana.
They migrate through and winter here in small numbers, so it's always a treat to find one. The bird in the photo has been hanging around Goose Pond for the last week or so.
