I have decided to stop voting in any election. It is the only form of non-violent protest that I have time for. We can no longer trust anything any candidate says. I have heard many arguments as to how it is my duty as a citizen to cast a vote but I see those people as the ones who are not yet awake. I no longer agree with the direction we have taken so I am not going to aid in the navigation. Let the car crash so we can choose a new path. Choosing between a douche and a turd is not a choice I am willing to make anymore.

If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.... or so sayeth Neil Peart...

If you choose not to cast a vote, that is your right, but you have therefore effectively cast your vote for "whomever is the most popular".

In my district, there are no 3rd party candidates. I will not vote republican nor will I vote democrat. I think Santa Claus will be getting my vote this year.

Ultimately, yes. Were either McCain or Romney my first (or second, third, fourth...) choice? Of course not.

Does that justify not participating, and letting an outright socialist who wants to fundamentally reform America to be elected (or re-elected)? Of course not.

You're new to INGO. You'll get the hang of it.

It's getting tougher to find candidates for whom I'd cast my consent amongst the standard choices of party-designated would-be rulers littering the ballots.

Lots of typical-for-INGO wingeing going on here.

No one likes a RINO, but the Dems are into serious social and constitutional engineering these days. Seriously, would four years of Romney with McConnell as Maj. Leader have been the moral equivalent of Obama and Co.? And the danger to the SCOTUS, which is already shaky, veering any further Left...

I don't care so much about the political shenanigans as I do about the unholy alliance between the Dems, academia and the media. There won't be much left to the country if this continues.

And how about getting involved at the grassroots? Political parties do still rely in part on local organizations. Ounce of prevention and pound of cure and all that...

Then you have zero standing to complain about the outcome, no matter the result.
Complacency is a major part of the problems this country suffers today.
How does it feel to be a contributing factor in the downfall of your country?

The best thing that can happen if the republicans can win the senate this year is to act as an additional check valve to Obama's agenda. To think anything to advance gun rights, reduce the federal deficit/debt, repeal Obamacare, or anything like that with the GOP in control of 2/3 of the equation is laughable and maybe more people are reaching that conclusion.

This is a gun forum. It's easy to pick who to vote for based on that alone. One issue, everything else is secondary.
Those who vote the other direction are the same as those who don't vote or throw their vote away.
You are either with us or against us. Simple as that.

And if more Americans don't stop this 'both parties suck' shtick, we will all be living in the UK figuratively speaking.

Another 2 years (at least) of relative inactivity? I don't mind if it's a type of damage control, but they certainly don't deserve their pay if they don't pass or repeal anything. If I'm unproductive at work, I don't deserve my pay. It should go that way for them too.
