Been thinking about getting a 'hawk for truck carry and general grins and giggles.

The Estwing EBTA is about half the price of the CRKT.

I like the longer spike on the Estwing, but I like the solid blade on the CRKT. And buying both is out of the question right now :-)

    Informed opinions appreciated.

Just my opinion, but, the CRKT "CHOGAN" is one hell of a hawk at only $45 on amazon.

Pretty sure YOU don't need something pointy, sharp and unwieldy to play with!

Out of the two, while the Kangee is sexier, I wouldn't feel as bad beating on the Estwing.

The shore of wonderful Lake Michigan
    CRKT.

I have the Estwing and am not particularity impressed with it. The fit and finish is pretty rough, but it isn't exactly expensive. I think the fact than nothing on it is remotely symetrical (grinds or the spike) bugs me more than anything. It is usable, but needs some work to get it as it should be.

Rambocat, I'd prefer a one piece design. I'm a bit....rough on tools and equipment :-) I have a pick in my garage that I somehow managed to turn one end into almost a "C" shape breaking up a concrete sidewalk.....

Question: for use as a tool, what value does the spike provide over a hammer poll? Would it be for digging?
