Funny thing is, the law says that if you file an APRA I get falsely accused of a crime.

It would be interesting to test this. Someone file an APRA request with Evansville for documents related to the settlement agreement and see if KF has another bathroom encounter with someone asking about his equipment. :)

Wouldn't it have to be someone with standing. Like a local news paper that is not in Evansville's pocket.

To get KF stopped in a bathroom? I think we all have standing to do that. :)

But, more seriously, Indiana's APRA has no requirement like that. Anyone can ask a public agency (which includes municipalities) for records. There are a ton of rules about what is required to be disclosed and what is discretionary, and what needs to be redacted, and all sorts of other things. But, there's no "standing" requirement.

As a matter of fact, I am aware of situations where out of state people request documents from certain state agencies, mine the data, then monetize it (usually by aggregating with other states' information).

The search engine for the site is... less than ideal. (Sometimes I've used custom google searches to get better results.) But, pick a year and look for cities/towns/agencies that look interesting.* :)
