What is this 1911 everybody speaks of? You must be crazy spending that much on a gun! My RIA is just as good and my Glock shoots better.

(I am sure no Purple is needed for the above statement. I would rather look at high end 1911s then adult magazines.)

Then you're doing it wrong OR getting old. 1911 in one hand........

maybe this collunm is where I can get an starting point.
    I just purchased a 1911. actually I traded a "AR" for a 1911.
I am use to and like the feel of a double stack.
I took several pieces of model aircraft plywood about 1/8 thick.
I layered 2 then 3 then finally 4 pieces thick on the right side (strong side).
That fit my hand to my liking. I filled in and smoothed with wood putty.
Then I held the 1911 with my support hand. The 1911's original left side felt good. I did not like my finger tips dangling. I built up the trigger side of my grip flat to the edge of the of the grip. now my support fingers touch the new grip.
Now I need to know where I can get someone to make my modified grip.
I know if I did it. it would look like S t!
I live in the Michigan City area.

honestly I would need to see your gun and how your hand fits it. My guess is a set of RoCo or Altamont grips would fit you. They are thicker then some other grips.
