That model has a towing bar on the front.

Two or three Jeeps can be hooked together to tow heavy artilery pieces, or small trucks, that a single Jeep couldn't tow by itself.

How many guns can you spot in that picture?

I missed one when I was standing right next to it, I only saw it while reviewing the pictures later.

Humvee, obviously not WW2, but still interesting ... especially to see the size different with a Jeep who was parked next to it.

All US vehicles had this warning on the back, a warning for British motorists, where soldiers trained to drive those trucks on public roads prior to the invasion of France.

Something they wouldn't for the vehicles who wouldn't leave the US.

    No tanks? :(

    No, sorry.
All those vehicles are owned by private owners and stored in their garage at home.
That's why it's mostly small Jeeps.

Tanks are very expensive to own (and illegal to drive on the road, so you need a truck to carry it as well), maintain and store ... unless you are a museum.

Some private collectors own tanks, but they are rare.
They can drive on public roads during special events (like D-Day) if they have a police escort.

I definitely did a double-take when first saw it.

Apparently it's how the French Resistance carried their guns, on a road at night you wouldn't see the gun.
Less visible than having it on a sling on your back.
Some painted the gun the color of their bike for that purpose.
