One of the greatest -- and absolutely non-toxic -- additions to my gun cleaning regimen has been 85psi of compressed air through a high-velocity nozzle! Two years ago, I finally completed a long-anticipated project of running piping underground from my garage (air compressor) to my basement (cleaning / workshop area). Compressed air doesn't replace all of my chemical usage, but it's easily cut it in half; and cut my cleaning time in half, too. For bore cleaning, I've been experimenting with "bore snakes" and no solvent. Just oil patches after cleaning and before storage.
Discussion of gun cleaning rituals can be tantamount to discussions of religion, I know. But compressed air (especially) and bore snakes (somewhat less so) have been welcome additions to gun cleaning, for me. I've had the best luck with the .22 bore snakes; I'm not as happy with the cleaning / brushing performance of the .45 bore snake. Also, with compressed air, you'll want to filter out moisture and contaminants, of course. But having done that, it's safe for you, safe for the gun, free, fast and effective. Something to consider.

I have changed over to Frog Lube for my personal weapons. I still have other CLP for others weapons, but all of mine have been changed over. It smells great compared to most and dont have to ventilate the house after.
