I'm a little surprised that they didn't just eliminate him. They chased that one lady through D.C. in a high speed chase and then shot her, with her child in the car, when she stopped and tried to get out of her car. And yes it does not instill a great deal of confidence in the security since he got through the front doors. Good thing he wasn't armed or a bomber.

Exactly what I was thinking. I am amazed that they didn't neutralize the fence jumper permanently.
