I went down to Beech Grove Firearms and purchased my first gun this weekend. Good price on the Ruger SR9c. I am looking forward to shooting it later this week. Still waiting for LTCH, but I am trying to get as comfortable carrying it as possible around the house. Next up will be some classes.
Congrats. Great carry gun. It's a little expensive, but my favorite holster for that particular gun is the Crossbreed Super Tuck. Conceals well and is so comfortable you may forget you are wearing it. Again, congrats!
I picked up a versacarry since no one had a regular holster for the sr9c in stock. I have to say I really like it so far. Very comfy and secure, draws easily & conceals real well.
Congrats on the new gun. The goal of everyone that carries a gun should be to try to wear that gun out through practice. It's kind of like swimming. Practice proper technique until you don't have to think about the actions. They will eventually become reflex. One thing that helps a lot is a laser training cartridge. Not only do they make dry fire practice more useful, but it becomes fun too. You can find them for around $85 if you look for sales online. Here's what I use when I practice with my CZs:
