I'll be surprised if one think tank saying that AWB is no longer the right direction for anti-gunners will have much of an effect. Bloomberg/MDA and their allies in less gun friendly states will continue to push for any/every restriction that they can, whether it involves following the law to get it there or not (I'm thinking of you New York and Connecticut).

They way they want to push for background checks isn't reasonable either. If you look at all of the billionaires pushing for expanded background checks in Washington State, you will see that they are pushing a law that requires background checks for *all* gun transfers. Loan a gun to your friend, get a background check. Get the gun back, get a background check. It is a change in tactics to infringe on gun rights and take them away inch-by-inch. Nothing new.

Just look at how pointless their wish list is:

Instead, CAP makes an argument for six policy prescriptions that are equally unlikely to receive a hearing in a Congress with zero appetite for any gun restrictions: implement background checks for all gun sales, force dealers to report to the federal government multiple sales of long guns, expand the prohibition on interstate handgun sales to include shotguns and rifles, forbid the use or possession of machine guns by people younger than 16, and require licenses and permits to possess an assault rifle or manufacture guns using 3D printers.

    1. Implement background checks for all gun sales? Where has this worked? It was such a laughable failure in Indiana that the General Assembly repealed it.

    2. 3310 for multiple long gun sales? How's that working out in California?

    3. Extend interstate prohibition on long gun sales? Is it 1968 again? It was a disaster and Congress repealed it.

    4. Prohibit under 16 from possessing or using machine guns? This is all they have? Already prohibited from possessing. Using? Like the family that stopped at Cledus's Bait and Gun and got the instructor shot? Civil litigation will weed out the morons.

    5. Permit to possess an "assault rifle"? You mean the things that were banned and it did nothing? Yeah, genius.

    6. License to manufacture 3D gun? This is so insane it can only be discussed in Washington DC.

This is weak. It is laughable.

We need to be eating their lunch and laughing them off the field. They are crushed.

They will rebrand it as something else. They are not going to let this one die out. My guess is they start to turn the statistics around in the argument. No more ban on "assault" weapons since those are used in relatively small #'s in gun crimes. They will go after the hand guns and shotguns that are more frequently used.

Feinstein? You mean that hypocritical b**** that proudly and publicly proclaimed that she HAS a gun permit but that 'regular citizens' should not?

Or do you mean that hypocritical b**** that proudly and publicly points at her bodyguards and proclaims no on unable to afford full-time bodyguards should be able to carry a firearm in order to protect THEM self?

Oh wait... that's the same hypocritical b****, isn't it? Or wait, maybe that's Shannon Watts, with HER bodyguards at the 2014 Indy NRA Convention?

Keep your firearms, and let the two of 'em and their scumbag ilk :spend: their $$$ on bodyguards. Hope it runs 'em all broke. And Bloomie? Despite what a small group of folks think, he doesn't have anyway near the power or $$$ to accomplish his low-life agenda.

Surprisingly, only one commenter went full-retard...the rest were solidly pro-freedom. Being bored today, I replied to the genius using the name King Leonidas:

Yes, they do…but such ‘rabidness’ is not for ourselves, it is for the HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of people that have been slaughtered by their own government (all nice and legal-like, by the way) and for the ones that lost their lives at the hands of criminals because huggy-feely, it’s-for-the-children, the-government-will-protect-you, Nanny-State loving short-sighted/intellectually challenged individuals such as yourself were allowed to legislate away man’s basic human right to possess effective self-defense tools. The ghosts of the victims of government-administered genocide, and government-enabled robbery, rape, and murder DEMAND that those of us *who still can* (they can’t…they were slaughtered thanks to the policies YOU support), rabidly fight tooth-and-nail against the idiotic and immoral laws that enablers of evil such as yourself seek to impose upon those that you seek to control.

    Regarding the article:

“…Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a grass-roots (sic) organization funded by former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg…Mr. Bloomberg has pledged to spend $50 million to support friendly candidates in the 2014 election…”

The word you should have used is “Astroturf organization”. The Mothers with No Sense in America is about as much of a “grassroots” organization as a Maserati is an everyday, everybody-has-one, commuter vehicle. The NRA is 5 million people giving 50 dollars to preserve their basic human rights; MDA is 1 person giving 50 million dollars to take away basic human rights…*THAT* is why we are RIGHT, and he and his paid lackeys are wrong.

They can say what they want but I would never believe them. Anti-gun people are like sheep. They follow one another and go wherever they are led. Right now, they say cool down on the assault weapons ban...until the next shooting. Then they will be right back on the bandwagon for the ban of assault weapons. I want to start a media outlet that reviews other media outlets and their lies.

Exactly. They will shift to ban handguns....
