I am going on a hunting trip in a few months and want a good quality, bright flashlight. The internet is full of advertisements. I have seen flashlights all over the price ranges. Can anyone recommend a flashlight that is darn bright and rugged ? I trust feedback from real life folks. Thanks in advance.

SureFire or Streamlight. I have been very happy with their products. I also have a couple small Fenix lights and I like them.

If your looking for something small, the Olight S1 Baton is great. 500 lumens on hight, four light setting plus a 1/2 lumen night mode. $45-50. I carry on in my pocket all the time.

Definitely check out Olight. I also carry an S1 Baton in my pocket daily and I have an S30R II as well. Great lights for the money.

    You didn't mention size requirements.

If I were backpacking 10 days into wilderness, I might not recommend. Or might recommend more highly. I don't know.

I don't go far without my Stanley fat max. It's rechargeable and will light up a beach, boat channel, or just about anything you want to light up.

If you want something compact and bright I really like my Fenix pd35. Comes with belt pouch. 900 lumen range with 4 settings. I got mine from led warehouse who is an INGO advertiser wih two batteries and charger for right around $90.

Their website has quite a few options worth checking out.

I carry a surefire p2xfury. It's small enough to fit in your pocket and i think it is 600 lums. A little expensive but it is built like a tank! If you want something bigger check our P3xfury it is 1,000 lums and is just as rugged.

$19.99 VLIFE off amazon same distance. Bought this one because I got tired of the kids taking my Streamlight to walk the dog.

Both have strobe functions. Streamlight has 4 different brightness settings. VLIFE unit you slide the head unit to go from complete coverage down to seeing the square LED diode.

Edit: Yes I need to paint my kids playset.

I daily carry a Fenix PD35 for the last year. Plenty rugged enough and over something like 900 lumen with lithium rechargeable batteries.

Nirecore MH12 1000 lumens & rechargeable battery. Best light I've owned hands down.

It's charged with a mini USB cable so no need to worry about external chargers. Has multiple brightness settings, strobe, sos etc.

If you don't mind spending a bit more for it and value the gold standard of lifetime warranties, with the nice bonus that they're made in USA, go Surefire.
There are lots of others out there that will be very close contenders on a more restricted budget.
