What options does a foreigner with a working visa have when it comes to legally defending his home? (asking for a friend) He has lived in the Indiana for about 8 years.

I would think it may be legal to own a shotgun but wasn't sure.

I did a few searches but haven't really found much yet.

Anyone have some good information on this or maybe a link?

    Thanks for any input.

If your friend can get through -- or already has gone through -- the green card process (not quick, easy, or cheap, but worth it), he will have the same arms rights as a US citizen while in Indiana. This is not true for all states. Washington state, for example, does not recognize a permanent resident's right to firearms.
