Buddy Euromounted my little 8 pt for me, got it today.
He found the 140gr Hornady Leverevolution bullet just under the eye on the left side (neck shot going away, head not fully erect- it nuked a vert and went under the cranial vault, into sinus.

I have a few bullets from other kills, in an NRA banquet mug.

    Got another for the collection!

    Just too cool.

BTW, bullet weighed 137gr in recovery. Hole directly above is where it came through to the hide and stopped

Factory .357 Hornady Leverevolution ammo ( plastic tipped stuff, maybe warm, wouldn't consider the ammo hot by any means-shoots well though) .
    1969 E series Colt Python 6" blued.
Distance 52 yards-spined (going away). Head was not fully erect. Treestand shot angle lessened (20+ ft stand, height cut in half due to deer position on rise). Fairly flat travel path to/in critter.
No visible sign of bullet resting place from outside. I thought it hit the vert and fragmented or stopped in the neck,
