I am still devastated. The stroke took so much out of him. Horrific news.

I am happy that I got to know him well. And I am happy I got the chance to see him in the nursing home just down the road from me.

The gun culture lost an articulate, technical voice. We are diminished.

The Frank I remember--booming voice, quick with a joke and an infectious "unique" laugh.

I knew Frank pretty well, he would have the guns he would receive in for reviews shipped to our shop, got to play with a lot of oddball guns that way. Frank would always have me take them out and shoot them and tell him what I thought. He was a regular at the Original Jungle Lane Machine Gun Shoot at Dan Peterson's place in Battleground and wrote the match up for Machine Gun News every year. His book, "Project 64", was and is the definitive book on the HK MP5.

A great writer and person...he will be missed...

I met Frank several times at matches at the late Jim Reinholt's (another great loss) range near Winamac and at Wildcat. Always a pleasure to be around.

    RIP
