Sorry for the late notice, but I heard about a Women's "gun, purses, chocolate, cool stuff like a simulator" event will be in FW on Sunday. Anytime that there's a mention of guns AND chocolate, I'm there!! It's Sun, 1-5 at the Holiday Inn on Ellison. Men, mother's day is soon...

    Practice Opportunity

I would like to invite you all to check out Fort Wayne Area Practical Shooters (FWAPS). It's is the local USPSA club. The shooting is not as "real life" as you probably experienced in the simulator at this event, but it does provide an opportunity, on a regular basis, to practice many "practical" shooting skills that can't always be practiced on a standard range.

We hold Thursday night practices, that are very no-pressure events, and give you an idea of what "practical shooting" is all about. More information on the practice nights can be found here: https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/shooting_sports/287469-fwaps_uspsa_practice_sessions.html

We also hold monthly matches. This thread has some info, plus some video from the April match:
    https://www.indianagunowners.com/forums/shooting_sports/289184-fwaps_uspsa_4_21_a.html

We usually have a couple ladies at the practice nights, and I think we had 3 ladies at the April match.

USPSA is a national organization (www.uspsa.org) that has been around for several decades. Many of us that are helping to run/organize the practice nights and matches are certified range officers with USPSA (and NRA). It is a safe, fun, well-established organization, with an established junior's program and a recognized Ladies' category in the scoring.

Hope to maybe see some of you there. If you have questions, you can post them in one of the threads mentioned above, PM me, or contact us through the FWAPS website (http://www.fwaps.org/info.html).

I shot with one of those ladies Sunday at FWAPS April match and she had as much fun as the guys did. Great gal be be around. She was a new shooter last year and you can really see her improvement.
