    It's been shown that the wealthiest individuals are the worst tippers. I don't feel sorry for investment bankers that now have to pay $115 for their lobster versus $112.

    Of course they don’t care. They can afford to morally posture..


    This just dodges the point that it’s the middle and low end restaurants and their employees and customers that get clobbered by wage fixing.

    My first part-time job in 1965 paid minimum wage of $1.25 an hour. And you could actually almost live on that. Even in college, tuition was about $135 a semester at the university and books were $50 or $60.

    Equivalent today would be around $10.30 and you can barely buy lunch at McDonalds with that amount.

    So, excuse me if I don't mind seeing people paid $15 an hour.

    Do you honestly think if people were paid a $15/hr minimum wage, the cost of a meal at McDonald's would be more affordable?
