I work throughout the perimeter and surrounding areas, so getting home at the end of the day for me could be from any direction. Some days I have no idea where I will end up. I'm confident that I could hoof it across the city to get home if I need to, so I generally just keep some food, water, and a first aid kit... along with my EDC & pocket knife. I think seasonality has a huge part to play as well. Staying warm or cool depending on the weather can play a major impact on your speed and visibility to others when you're trying to stay under the radar.
