Glock 21 a good gun ?

Thinking on getting a Glock 21. Anyone have any input positive or negative about it ?

Very good gun. Not for small hands and IWB carry, although I'm sure someone does it.

Ya i love the S&W's also but kinda been on this Glock kick here lately after Buying the Glock 19. Looking for something with a bit more power than the 9mm cartridge and had my eyes on a Glock 21

I carried one iwb in an aliengear holster, no issues. Im 6'1" 195lbs. Just had larger shirts.

I dont have big hands but if it's anything like the Glock 30s then it should be fine, i really like the feel of it but want more of a full size than a compact

Good Choice..

If you like the feel of a Glock 30, then you will like the Glock 21--just bigger+heavier..

There are more than a few PD's that run the G-21 as Duty Weapons...Bill.

Bigger and Heavier isn't a problem , i prefer full size guns and really dig the looks of the 21

Gen 4 has the Gen 3 SF sized grips. I recommend the G21 Gen 4.

Never had a Gen 4, Had alot of Gen 3, alot of good reviews on the Gen 3's is why i stuck with them all this time

The original 21 was almost too big for my hand to hold comfortably. The 21SF was noticeably a better fit. Both are easy shooters for me and I'm accurate with both.

I dont have big hands either, but the Gen 4 G21 without any back straps fits me OK. Handle a Gen4 to see if it works for you. The Gen3 G21 grip was just to big for me.

Love the 21! I have owned, carried, shot and competed with Gen 3 and Gen 4 G21 and they are my favorite .45ACP. Gen 4 has the advantage of a larger mag release button and is slightly softer shooting with the dual recoil spring and the additional extra of being able to add back straps to the Gen 4 to better fit it to your hand is a plus. Either way, whether you go Gen 3, Gen 3 SF or Gen 4, I cannot say enough good things about the way a G21 shoots. I have one with close to 8,000 rounds and it is still factory stock and has never given me a single issue of any kind.

Another vote here for the gen 4 version of the G21. Higher capacity that a 1911 with Glock reliability. As has been stated, the gen 3 Glock 21 is very thick. Unless you have unusually large hands, the trigger is a bit of a reach. I have shot a decent amount of rounds through both the gen 3 and gen 4 and honestly don't notice a great deal of recoil difference from the gen 4 spring. However, the grip and trigger reach are much better on the 4th gen. Either should serve you well from a reliability standpoint.

Try the PPQ .45, it's a pleasure to shoot, superior trigger, & ergo. When I get some time, will post range report. G21 is a good gun, PPQ 45 a great gun. YMMV

Gen 4 has the Gen 3 SF sized grips. I recommend the G21 Gen 4.

if you liked the 30S grip, you should like the Glock 21 gen 4 grip

I have medium sized hands and a Gen 3 21sf and it's comfortable. If you can get a good price on a Gen 4, go for it for the adjustability. The Gen3 sf frames are not rare by any means, but are also not as abundant as the Gen4s are. Just remember when comparing prices, the Gen 4s typically come with 3 mags vs. 2 in a Gen 3. Gen 3 G21s seem to be down in price right now, so this may be a good time to shop.

Nothing but mad respect for the Glock 21. I picked up a Gen 4 and have not been able to put it down. Very accurate and has yet to give me any issues at all. Cant say that about any other gun I have owned.

I actually sold off my other pistols and picked up a Gen 4 17 to go with it.

I prefer full sized guns for carry. If I could only have one gun the 21 would be the one. Buy with confidence.

FYI I wear a large Jerzy glove and am currently shooting the Gen 4 without any backstraps added. Feels fine to me. I have also shot a few matches with a barrowed Gen 3 and did real well with it too. Buy what feels good to you and is a fair price.
