Has anyone converted a Glock 23 in .40SW to .357Sig using a Lonewolf barrel?

I am well aware of converting the .40 to 9mm, but I already have three Glocks in 9mm, 19, 17, 34..., and one in .45, the 21.

I love the 23 in 40 since it's the supposed "middle ground" between 9mm and .45. The 357Sig, as I understand it, closes the gap a little between the .40 and the .45?

I plan on getting .357Sig Glock mags to eliminate confusion at the range with 40's, and this is not going to be a carry weapon. My plan is to use it for plinking and fun..., in what I consider to be a "sideways" conversion, if that makes sense.

    As always, feedback appreciated.

The Glock .357SIG barrel's external (outer) dimensions are equal to the .40 S&W (G-23)...you won't need to buy a conversion barrel. I would just get a Glock barrel from Lone Wolf Distributors - Main Page and put it in...using the same spring. Also, you can use the mags you already have as the .357SIG casing is the same .40 casing, it's just necked down to shoot a .355 (9mm) bullet. If you happen to do reloads, the 9mm (.355) bullet will work for both 9mm and .357SIG.

Also, the .357 SIG round has a much higher velocity and 40%+ increased force/impact than a .45acp. :yesway:

Lastly, make sure you're wearing ear plus + muffs when you cap off a .357 SIG round...they have quite a pop! :ar15:

The .357 Sig (9mm magnum :)) doesn't really do anything that a .40 can't do, or even a hot 9mm. They are all good defensive rounds, as far as handguns go. Personally, I like the wider, heavier bullet of the .40, given the capacity of both platforms (.357 and .40) being the same.

As already stated, you don't need a conversion barrel, or .357 Sig magazines. You just need a standard .357 Sig barrel for your Glock. The .40 mags are the same as the .357 mags, they are just marked different.

Depends on your ammo. Double Tap makes some hot 185 grain JHP's that equal or exceed their hottest .357 Sig offerings. Not a whole lot of difference between the defensive handgun calibers in their best offerings. (Comparing apples to apples)
